Nepal Mental Health Rehabilitation
The 7.8 earthquake on 25 April, 2015 in Nepal was the worst natural disaster to strike the country in more than 80 years, killing more than 9,000 people and injuring at least 23,000 people. With entire villages flattened and millions people displaced, the mental health impact of this deadly earthquake is severe. While the world has shown solidarity by pouring in material aid, the mental wounds caused by such a traumatic experience must not be neglected. PCCN has sent counseling teams to support the mental health rehabilitation of the people in Barpak and other major affected areas.
